Starting VB

 

When you start VB from the WIndow Programs menu or from a shortcut, the "New Project" dialog box is displayed, as shown below.

 

 

Note: If this dialog box does not display, someone turned it off by previously checking "Don't show this dialog in the future".  To make it display, you can go to the Tools menu, select Options, and on the Environment tab, select Prompt for Project.  The next time you start VB, this dialog will display.

 

The dialog box will display with the "New" tab active and "Standard EXE" pre-selected.  The other tabs ("Existing" and "Recent") enable you to load a previously saved project. For now, accept the defaults and click Open.
